ABOUT
WINTER WREN
WOOD WORKS
Situated in the picturesque Cowichan Valley River Basin, explore the craftsmanship of Alex and Myles Miller, a devoted father-and-son duo in the art of woodworking. After dedicating numerous years to woodwork as a hobby, Myles earned his fine furniture degree from Camosun College in 2021 and established Winter Wren Wood Works. With decades of experience in the cabinet and construction industry, Alex brings a wealth of expertise and commitment to delivering quality work. Together, they've embarked on a woodworking venture fueled by a deeply ingrained passion for the incredible beauty of all things wood.
The inception of Winter Wren Wood Works is the culmination of a lifelong devotion to creativity and craftsmanship. This love for the craft has been passed down through several generations, extending back to Myles' great-great-grandfather, whose hand tools still serve a purpose in the shop daily.
Our shop is situated on 13 acres of pristine wooded land in the beautiful Cowichan Valley River Basin. The management and stewardship of this remarkable land is our greatest passion and lies at the heart of our business. This land provides us with access to windfall lumber that we locate, move, mill, and dry on-site in the least impactful and most sustainable way possible. Having this resource just outside our door gives us the unique opportunity to go from raw log to completed furniture and other wooden projects without ever leaving the property. In this way, we can ensure not only high-quality materials but also total accountability for the sustainability of every step in the process. This connection to the material only deepens the incredible pride and attention to detail that we uphold when building furniture, as we strive to match the extraordinary beauty of the woods that surround us.
Let us at Winter Wren Wood Works collaborate with you to craft that perfect piece you've been dreaming of for you and your family to enjoy for a lifetime.
